You see those complicated recipes for cake pops on Pinterest but my eyeball cake pops are the simplest thing ever. Grab some donut holes and make these goodies in 5 minutes flat. I love a quick and easy no-bake Halloween dessert. This one is perfectly spooky and they are easy to make. I call that a win-win! Now let’s get to (not!) baking.
Eyeball Cake Pops Recipe
This easy recipe can be pulled together in minutes making it perfect for serving up at Halloween parties. These Halloween cake pops are also fun to serve up on a weeknight leading up to the big night. Your kids will love this spooky dessert and you will love how easy they are to make.
Ingredients:
- donut holes (yep just from the bakery)
- frosting (your choice of flavors but needs to be white for the eyes)
- red paste food coloring
- toothpicks
- sucker sticks or popsicle sticks
- candy eyeballs
- mason jar or another method to stand cake pops
How to Make Halloween cake pops:
- Remove lid and foil wrap from canned icing.
- Microwave icing for 20 seconds and stir.
- Put stick inside of one donut hole and dip into the icing until covered.
- Add candy eyeball by pressing into the icing.
- Use a toothpick dipped in red paste food coloring to add “blood” around the eye. Just drag the toothpick through the icing randomly for the bloodlines. You can add as much or as little of the veins as you would like.
- Stand up in a mason jar or by any other means to allow to harden. I used a Halloween printed tissue paper in my mason jar to make sure the pops did not touch.
- Serve immediately or after the icing has hardened.
See you have made quick and easy eyeball cake pops in 5 minutes. The best part? No one will ever know you didn’t slave in the kitchen all day. If you love a quick and easy dessert hack like this one, be sure to make these for your little ones this Halloween. Heck these would even be great for an adult Halloween party.
How to Serve These at a Party
If you are serving these up for a crowd, I would use a styrofoam block covered in something spooky like cheesecloth. Then you could stand up a bunch of these cake pops easily without worrying about them tipping over and getting ruined while they dry. By covering the block, you can just use it as part of the decor. Press each of your eyeball cake pops into the block and it will stay in place for an entire night of spooky fun. You can try these other ways to display cake pops as well.
Want to change this up a bit for your party? Try other colors in your icing. Green and purple monster eyes would look great. Orange and black eyes themed for Halloween would also be cute. Just let your imagination run wild and make these eyeball cake pops all your own.
