I am back with some more Thanksgiving fun and my rustic burlap napkin rings. The perfect accessory for your Thanksgiving table plus they are super easy to make. If you missed it, I shared my bottle cap turkey napkin rings for the kids’ table earlier this week. This is a more sophisticated napkin ring for the adults’ table. As a bonus, these napkin rings double as place cards as well.

How to Make Rustic Napkin Rings:
First, just a note. Don’t be scared! This was only my second time working with a wood-burning tool and it is so super simple and easy to use. Don’t believe me? Just watch me LIVE as I make these napkin rings with my friend Carolina from 30 Minute Crafts. Then you will see that burning wood is a piece of cake.
See it is perfectly easy to make these! Can’t watch the video or missing some instructions? Here is a brief recap for you:
- Grab your supplies for as many napkin rings as you want to make.
- Burn the initials into the wood with your wood-burning tool. Be sure to follow all instructions and safety precautions with the tool. It is just like writing with a hot pen.
- Rub edges of the wood shape with brown ink to distress them. This is optional but I like the addition distressing for a more rustic look.
- Cut a length of burlap ribbon and tie it around your napkin.
- Tie on your wood shape with a bit of baker’s twine and a button.
- Enjoy your rustic Thanksgiving dinner table!
These great rustic burlap napkin rings will be the hit of your Thanksgiving meal. Make a set of these today in preparation for the big day. Just make a list of your guests so you can write the initials of each on the wood pieces.
The wood-burned tags can also double as a party favor. Send them home with your guests and they can add a piece of string to hang from their Christmas tree as a rustic ornament.
Don’t forget these would work perfectly with my DIY burlap placemats! Start planning your Thanksgiving celebration now. Make a list of those projects you want to make for your family celebration. Adding these burlap napkin rings to your list will add a little something special to your table.

Bravo bravo girls, loved your video and I could even hear most of what both of you were saying. I’m pretty hard of hearing so most of videos I can’t hear a word. Whatever it is you gals do I could hear pretty well. I kind of read lips so that helped. You both look so pretty and natural, no make up on. Love that, certainly more realistic. Enjoyed the projects a lot. Where did you get those wood pieces you wood burned on Angie? Love that ribbon on the little turkey. Happy days ahead gals.
