Link up your quick Teacher Appreciation crafts to our linky party today. Now lets learn how to make those candy covered pretzel pencils.
Start with pretzel rods, yellow candy coating, pink and silver sprinkles, and some black food coloring. You can see that you will make a mess below. Have the kids help as this one is messy and fun! Cover your area in waxed paper. Melt the yellow candy coating according to the package directions. Coat each pencil then immediately dip the end in the pink sprinkles. Lay down and sprinkle on a line of silver sprinkles. Allow to dry maybe 5 minutes then dip a skewer or toothpick into the black food coloring and write on “No 2”. Allow to dry completely.
Then just drop into a long plastic favor bag. I tied mine closed with fun mini chalkboards on a clothespin. Write on your teacher’s name and this one is ready to give for Teacher Appreciation Week. The teacher will love these candy covered pretzel pencils.
