How To Make Cricut Onesies
Now that you have your file, you can follow the instructions below to make onesies with any of the designs above.
Step 1: Upload SVG File To Cricut Design Space
Upload the SVG file to the software for your Cricut machine. You can see how to do that here.
Step 2: Cut Design In Heat Transfer Vinyl
You can then cut your design from your heat transfer vinyl. Be sure to mirror your cut and put the material face down on the mat.
Step 3: Weed Design
Once your design is cut, weed away all of the excess material. Weeding tools make this job easier.
Step 4: Add Design To Onesie
Then place your design on your onesie and press for the recommended time and temperature. All heat transfer vinyl brands are different so you will want to follow the instructions that come with what you are using. You can also see our general guide to heat transfer vinyl here.
Step 5: Remove Transfer Sheet
Once pressed, remove the transfer sheet and enjoy your new onesie!
Now wouldn’t you love to receive a gift like this one? Be sure to make your own onesies with heat transfer vinyl today.
You might have a hard time choosing between these three designs so buy enough supplies to make all three. You will be so glad you did!
Tips and Tricks for Cricut Onesies
Now that you’ve seen these Cricut onesies, are you ready to make your own? Here are a few tips and tricks to ensure your project goes as smoothly as possible!
- Lint Roll Your Onesie – To ensure that you get the best transfer for your design, I recommend lint rolling your onesies! Doing this will remove any type of lint that might interfere with the design and will give you a smooth surface to work with.
- Use Your Scrap Vinyl – Depending on the design you choose, you might be able to skip the big sheets of vinyl and dig into your scrap bin! This is because, since we are working with a small area, you don’t necessarily need that much vinyl to create your custom onesies.
- Break Out The Iron – If you don’t have a Cricut Easypress you can also use an iron to make this project! However, if you have both and are wondering which is best, check out my Cricut EasyPress Versus Iron blog post. In the post, I compare both the Easypress and iron with a variety of Cricut materials.
- Have Fun Using SVG Files! – With so many SVG files available, you can easily create a closet full of custom onesies for your little one! So, have fun with the SVG files included in this post and with making them your own. Also, if you are looking for even more SVG files, check out all of our FREE SVG files here on the blog!
