I picked up Crisco® Pure Vegetable Oil at Publix to get my recipe off to a great start. You can download coupons and find amazing recipes here. I then used Crisco® to create this great recipe. It is actually based on a recipe I found in a vintage cookbook. Those are my favorite recipes to re-create. They did desserts right then!
Caramel Cake Recipe
- 1 package yellow cake mix (15.25 oz)
- 1 cup chopped pecans
- 1/2 cup Crisco® Pure Vegetable Oil
- 2 eggs
- 1 cup caramel ice cream topping
- 2 tbsp hot water
- 1 cup shredded coconut
Mix together all of the cake ingredients above. Mix for about 3 minutes.
You will be left with a gorgeous cake batter that is ready for the oven! Spread in a greased 9×12 pan and bake at 325 degrees for 45 minutes or until done. Let cool.
Ingredients

Caramel Icing Recipe
- 2 cups powdered sugar
- 3 tbsp caramel ice cream topping
- 2 tbsp milk
- 1/2 cup melted butter
Mix all ingredients together and beat until smooth. Spread over cooled cake. Sprinkle with an additional 1/2 cup of chopped pecans. Slice into small square to serve.
Ingredients
- 2 cups powdered sugar
- 3 tbsp caramel ice cream topping
- 2 tbsp milk
- 1/2 cup melted butter
Instructions
- Mix all ingredients together and beat until smooth.
