To keep your kiddos busy this summer, consider making this 15-minute busy book page using felt shapes! It’s a great way to review shapes and colors while keeping little hands busy. It’s super fun!
When my kids were little, busy books were my go-to activity. They loved flipping through the pages and finding all sorts of activities to do. I would often make busy book pages ahead of time and store them in a binder. Then, when I needed a quick activity, I could just pull out a page and let them go to town.
This particular busy book page is a great way to review shapes and colors. To make it, you’ll need some felt in different colors and shapes. You can easily find these at your local craft store or online.
This is a great gift for babies and toddlers! Highly recommend!

Instructions
Here’s how to make this DIY busy book page…
Step 1
Start by printing out the shapes pattern page and cut all of your pieces from the felt.
Step 2
Cut the ribbon and velcro pieces to attach to the busy book page.
Note: I did not measure the ribbon lengths but just make sure they will extend from the inside of the pocket to the shapes with plenty of slack.
Step 3
Sew the velcro to both of the shape pieces to that they will stick together on your finished busy book page.
One of the shapes should get the ribbon under the velcro as shown below.
Step 4
Sew the shapes that do not have the ribbon to the stiff felt sheet randomly on the page. Sew the loose ends of the ribbons to the page as shown below.
Note: This will be hidden by the pocket in a minute.
Step 5
Sew on the pocket leaving the top open.
Your shapes busy book page is complete! They can store the shapes in the pocket and then pull them out to match them up! A fun activity for toddlers just learning their shapes.
