I am kicking off an entire week of summer mason jar crafts with some blog friends today. I am starting with these super quick and easy succulent jar magnets. You can scroll to the bottom of this post to see what the other blogs came up with today. First you can learn how to make these fun magnets in just minutes.
Like so many other things, I knew I had to have these adorable little magnets the moment I saw them! But, the price tag definitely scared me into figuring out how to make my own versions.
Faux succulents bring a whole new vibe and style when it comes to crafting. Right now, succulent crafts are some of my favorites. They are easy to work with and make great décor pieces. Plus, they are super inexpensive.
How to Make Succulent Magnets
Supplies needed to make your own succulent jar magnets:
- Glass vials
- Artificial succulents
- Moss
- Magnets
- Hot glue and glue gun
Watch the super short video below to see the steps in less than 10 seconds. Yes you can see everything you need to know about this craft that quickly. It really is super easy.
Steps to make succulent magnets:
First, remove the cork from the vials and fill each one with moss. I used a pencil to stuff in the moss.
You don’t want it too tight, but just enough so the moss and glue will hold the succulent stem into place.
If you aren’t able to find actual succulents at the craft store, you can always try this craft with faux greenery. Just cut small leaves and pieces away from the stem so they resemble a succulent.
When your vials are filled with moss, dab a little hot glue to the bottom of the succulent piece and just inside the moss, and stick into place.
After the glue has dried, secure a the small magnet to the back of each glass vial with hot glue. All it to dry for a few hours and your magnets are ready for the fridge!
These super simple succulent jar magnets are perfect for your refrigerator and more. Make them in minutes and display them in your home.
Now for my partners for this series. See what they have in store for summer jar week below!
