Grab your vinyl and make these football mason jars for any party you are planning! These football-themed crafts are the perfect addition to any football party. Follow along as I show you how to make both of these football party mason jar crafts in minutes. They really are that easy!
DIY Football Mason Jars
If you are planning a tailgate or other football game party, you may want some cheap decorating ideas. I have 2 ideas for you and both of them use mason jars that you already have around your home.
The first idea is a utensils holder. Decorate leftover glass jars from salsa or jelly with adhesive vinyl. When you see how easy it is, you’ll want to do this for every party!
The next idea is to create glass mason jar mugs that look like footballs. Don’t forget to add a cute straw with green flags!
I’m going to share some step-by-step pictures along with some tips. I also have a Cricut cut file for you so you can make these jars in minutes by cutting the pieces on any Cricut machine.
Football Cricut SVG File
Start by downloading the cut file by signing up for the newsletter in the box below. Look for a box with a picture of the download you want to receive. If you already get the newsletter, just add in your information again as you will not be signed up for anything further. Once you are signed up, check your email for your file. You can then upload to your Cricut machine in order to cut the pieces for your football crafts.
Please note that this file is for personal use only. You can also contact me if you have any issues getting the file.
How To Make Utensil Holders Out Of Mason Jars
The first football mason jar idea is to decorate empty jars to look like a football field complete with the number markers. You could also do these in team colors to look like football jerseys as well.
Supplies needed
- Adhesive vinyl in white and green
- Cricut cutting machine
- Football cut file (download above)
- Small jelly jars or any other leftover or recycled jar
Step 1 – Cut the green vinyl
Before you begin, measure the green vinyl on the jars and mark how wide they need to be to fit around the jars. Then, cut them into equal pieces. You can even use green paper or colored Duck Tape for this.
Step 2 – Cut the numbers
Use your Cricut to cut numbers from the white vinyl. Be sure to download the cut file above for the numbers and resize it once you upload it to Cricut Design Space to fit your jars. You could also choose a different font if you want to change it up.
Step 3 – Add vinyl to jars
Wrap the small jelly jars with the green vinyl then add the numbers to the front that you cut with your Cricut.
Tip: You don’t have to buy new mason jars for this craft. Just save and reuse jars from your fridge or pantry. In fact, you don’t even have to completely remove the labels since you are going to be covering the jars with vinyl. Add in your utensils and these jars are ready for your football party.
Football Mason Jar Ideas: How to Make Mugs
Next is the football mason jar mug. This process uses the same supplies as the previous mason jars – the same vinyl. Since these are going to be drinking mugs, it’s best to find some with handles, but it’s not required. However, if you want to add the straws to this one, you will need some themed paper straws.
Step 1 – Cut vinyl
First, cut the parts shown below from the white vinyl with your Cricut. The same cut file above has the parts for both of these football mason jar crafts.
Step 2 – Adhere vinyl to jars
Clean the outside of your jars with rubbing alcohol. Then add the vinyl to the front of your mason jar mugs and fill them with beverages. (I love how the dark colored beverage makes these look like footballs!)
Tip: You can also put green tape flags on fun straws to complete the look. These are seriously some of the easiest party crafts you will ever make!
To make the flag straws, just wrap a strip of vinyl around your straw and cut with scissors into a flag shape. It is so easy but really adds something special to these football mason jar ideas.
Your guests will love these football mason jars at your party. From serving the drinks to setting the table, you can have a mason jar ready for the occasion. Be sure to pair these with our football party printables for the ultimate party.
So, grab you Cricut machine and get started on the decorations for your football party. After all, what is football season without a fun party or even a tailgate?

Love doing diy projects and love the Football mason jar one. My son and his family are big sports buffs, this is going to go over big with them.
Thanks again 🙂
Starting to do projects to keep my mind active since I am a caregiver for my husband who has the early signs of Alzheimer’s. This would help me greatly in doing a lot of projects.
Thanks again for considering me.
wolfgirlhere@yahoo.com says my husband would love these. If I win Cricut I will make for sure. Thanks for chance to win. I have tried for month to win this thing with no unknown well at least I have one more try here.
omg I need this machine. What a dream this would be. I am an animal rescue and I make cards sets etc to sell to help fund the sprays of the animals I trap. I trap strays and they go off to another group who puts them up for adoption. I socialize feral kittens and they go to Pet Smart.
The feral cats I bring back to my property after vetting of course and they go in an acclimation kennel for 30 days outside so they want run off when let out. The feral so live out there life in backyard and woods behind house. I provide insulated houses and food continued vet car for rest of their life. Feral cats that are true wild feral so can’t be adopted.
I need this machine to make adoption event banners and mass product craft and home decor items to sell.
Thank you so much for the inspiration of ideas and chance to win. This would be A Life Saver To Animals and Me Too!
I don’t use my google acct for mail see below email.

wolfgirlhere@yahoo.com. My iPad changed my spelling. Sorry. Lol.
I would love to make a bunch of those mason jar football mugs. We’ve had a Superbowl party every year for over 30 years. These would be a great idea. You could write guests’ name on the duct tape!
great idea i will make this one
Just found you today, so glad I did. If I won this, my first project would be for my son’s 30th b-day. Next would probably be for a VA support project. I’m sure it would get plenty of use and I know it would be greatly appreciated. Good luck to everybody!
Love this idea! Every Sunday during football season our family does something fun for lunch, and then we hang out to watch the games during the day. This is perfect for our first football Sunday together.
Where do I get the football laces for the mason jars? I love this and want to make it!
I would say you can use any football image and trace the laces. I don’t have an SVG currently.
