Get the free printable 30-minute cleaning schedule below! The number one question I get from most people is “how do you do it all”? This week I am going to try to give you my tips and tricks for getting things done around your home. Starting with my 30 minutes per week house cleaning schedule!
I love to give my house a really good deep cleaning. But I don’t have a week (or more) to dedicate to the task. I generally break up the task over several weekends so that I can get the deep clean without taking a week’s vacation. For this series, I thought why not take it one step further. So I broke down the typical “deep clean” tasks into 52 installments that will each take around 30 minutes each.
That is right, in just 30 minutes a week you can get a cleaner home with my house cleaning schedule. Want a daily cleaning schedule for your regular weekly cleaning? I have that cleaning printable here as well!

Deep Cleaning House Schedule FAQ
Here are a few notes before you get started:
- The schedule below contains typical “deep clean” tasks for a 3 bedroom, 2 bathroom house.
- Daily/weekly cleaning tasks are not included. But if you want a cleaner more sparkling home by the end of the year — in just 30 minutes per week — this checklist is for you.
- Tasks should take around 30 minutes — some a little less and some a little more.
- There may be some tasks on the list that do not apply to you. Take those weeks and either work ahead or do something that is not on the list.
- I don’t have any way of knowing anything about your home so this is a general idea as to what it takes for my home. You may need to take this list and customize it for yourself.

Such a great idea! last year I used a deep cleaning service to tackle things. But, this year, seeing as I’m all caught up, I will just use your handy dandy checklist and stay on top of things myself. I was already going to try and do it myself, but your checklist just made it easier. Thanks!
I don’t understand how this list works. If I only do each task once a week then essentially I will only be doing each task once a year. For example, i would think it would not be good to only clean the fan blades or top of stove once a week. So how is this list supposed to work?
Subscribed but did not receive email. Please explain.
It was sent on 5/16. Please check your spam. Also on Gmail there is a promotions folder and some other folders. You will need to look in all of those as well.
Hey Veronica! This is meant to be a list for DEEP cleaning. So yes you would clean the top of your stove regularly. But once a year at a minimum you really need to get in there, disassemble it, and give the entire thing a deep clean. I hope that helps!
Great list!!
I so need this!
Angie, love the list! Thank you so much! I just passed your link along to my readers on my facebook page. Such a great idea!
This is SO helpful!!! Obviously, I’ll probably tackle a few things a week at a time and then repeat the list. It gives a great idea of things we need to clean that we sometimes forget about! Thanks so much for posting:)
Thanks, I pinned this!
I appreciate what was intended here, but to be honest w you, many of these chores are a monthly chore…not a yearly one; others are quarterly. I was a professional cleaner for a long time…I know what I’m talking about.
Thank you so much for this helpful list! I appreciate your time and efforts and generosity in sharing it!
Great list, although meant fo people without pets and kids. Many of these items are monthly for us (or every 3-4 months). The idea and concept is great and I will be using your list the compile a list of my own that will suit a family of five with 3 dogs, as well as a weekly chore list. Thanks:-)
Since every household is different in size and potential tasks to be accomplished, maybe the first 30 minutes should be spent formulating a comstomized list…
I tried to access your recipes but they would not let me click on them. can you please let me know how to access them .
thank you

Can you tell me whether it is on a computer or on your phone? What browser? It is working fine for me. https://www.thecountrychiccottage.net/2009/11/recipes.html
I too do most of these chores monthly, 4 kids and 3 dogs are gross lol. I just wanted to add a few ive discovered over time – take everything out of the fridge and deep clean. If you have an electric stove vacuum out the bottom drawer. I also like to vacuum out the inside of my cabinets once or twice a year. Wipe fake plants off. Wash table/chair legs. my biggest tip for a clean home is to keep a large basket handy and once a month go through every room in your home and get rid of things. Anytime something is in your hand that you dont want to stick around immediately go put it in the basket. join freecycle or take it to goodwill when full. Hope someone finds these useful and thank you so much for the list, there were some good ones on there!!
Hi Angie,
Do you have a modifiable version of this list? Some of the items don’t apply to my home, but I have others I’d like to add in without having to type out the whole list. Thanks for sharing!
Gosh Laura I don’t! This is a few years old and I am afraid I don’t have access any more!
Hey Angie! I just found your post (in 2016!) and i’m ever so thankful! You literally cover everything that’s dear to my wife, she loves a clean household and we both found your post educational and, (oddly for me) fun! I never thought i’d say that about cleaning! Maybe veering a little off topic here but with regards to deep cleaning I wanted to know what everyones thoughts were on carpet cleaning and how they tackle a good carpet clean / rug clean? With regards to carpet cleaning, we’ve recently had our whole house professionally carpet cleaned. We were both so surprised to learn that carpets and rugs could be treated/decontaminated differently. Although we did learn a lot about steam cleaning and the normal dry cleaning, the guys we had come in to do our carpets actually spoke of using some essential oils. They suggested using some lavender essential oils, for the reason that they can actually remove most odours that get stuck deep in the fibres of our carpets. We were so surprised to learn just how intricate something like treating carpets could be.
So for any clean freak / essential oil enthusiasts out there – aside from lavender oil, we were actually recommended to use a mixture of lemon/orange/lime essential oils on our carpets too. Maybe this could be worth a go? We basically got a short list of essential oils that can be used on carpets, we still have to try the citrus mix above ^ but we were also recommended to use Siberian Fir essential oil and Juniper Berry essential oil too, which apparently are all alternatives to Lavender essential oil, but maybe not as good as getting odours out! Any thoughts from anyone else? Any thoughts on possibly writing a post this topic Angie?

I updated it! Try that!
Hey Angie, I just want to say thanks. How nice of you to give us such a detailed list of chores — I really appreciate your doing that.
The way I’m going to use it is to go down the list and choose the things that need done (some of which I never even think about – like the living room baseboards! and organizing the bathroom cabinets! and the fronts of the kitchen cupboards…and on and on!) ~ I’m going to skip the Week 1, Week 2 part, and will figure out my own timing. I really like having the boxes next to the chores so that I can check off what I’ve done. Don’t know how long it will take me to do everything, but this list is really great in helping me pick my cleaning priorities. So anyway, THANKS, Angie, you’re a pal.
