Spook up your Halloween with these black cat cupcakes. These easy Halloween cupcakes will make everyone smile! A few simple decorations and you will have a plate full of cupcakes that will please even the pickiest eater. They are perfect for sending to the school party or even just to give your kids something special after school. Try serving them with my pumpkin spice fall trail mix for a fun fall-themed snack that the entire family will love.
Black Cat Cupcakes
Ingredients:
- 12 cupcakes
- 1 to 2 cups chocolate frosting
- Black jimmie sprinkles
- Black fondant
- 6 Starburst Unwrapped candies, cut in half diagonally
- 24 yellow Reese’s Pieces candies or M&Ms
- Black frosting
Equipment:
- Large open star tip (Wilton 1M Open Star Piping Tip)
- Piping bag
- Fondant rolling pin
- Fondant cutter or knife
- Toothpick
Instructions:
- Using the toothpick and black frosting, draw a line in the center of each yellow candy. Allow the frosting to set completely.
- Pipe black frosting over cupcake in a circular direction working from the center of the cupcake towards the outside.
- Then invert cupcakes and press into the black jimmies.
- Position a half Starburst unwrapped candy as the cat’s nose.
- Press one yellow candy “eye” to each side of the “nose.”
- Then roll the fondant flat and cut 24 triangles. Press fondant triangles into the top side of each cupcake as the cat’s ears.
- Using the remaining fondant, roll into long strands and cut into 6 whiskers for each cupcake.
- Then, with a toothpick, press the end of the whiskers beside the “nose.”
Just that quickly you have black cat cupcakes for your entire family. I told you these were super easy to make!
