I am working on an entire week of teacher gift ideas y’all. Today is a cake slice gift box that can be filled with the treat of your choice for teacher. If you have missed any of the ideas this week, be sure to click on over to day 1, day 2, and day 3. Also, you can scroll down to the bottom of this post to see tons of quick and easy ideas from our blog partners. Now lets get to work on this cake slice!
This is actually a really simple teacher gift idea but there are quite a few steps involved. Y’all hang in there and lets do this! Start by gathering your supplies:
- Sizzix Cake Slice dies (out of stock currently)
- Sizzix with extended cutting pads
- Scrapbook paper
- Tape runner
- Sizzix Bigz Die – Labels & Buttons
- Baker’s twine
- Ribbon
- Letter stamps
- Ink
Start by cutting the cake slice pieces with your Sizzix from the scrapbook paper of your choice.
There are instructions right there on the package for assembling the cake slice box. Just follow those step by step.
Folding the long piece was a little confusing to me so I thought I would share a picture of where the folds should be.
Finish assembling the bottom of the cake slice box as shown on the instruction sheet.
Fold down as the last step and make sure everything is glued into place.
You can then fold the top portion of the box (again according to the instructions that are in the Sizzix die).
Your box is ready to fill and embellish. Lets start by cutting some labels and buttons with this Sizzix die.
Fill up your cake slice with the teacher gift of your choice. You can add a small amount of tape to the back edge as well so that you box hinges up as shown below.
Use the letter stamps and ink to personalize your tag with the message of your choice. I used “teacher you take the cake”.
Tie the tag on the cake slice box using the ribbon.
I also wanted to add a button embellishment. I just added baker’s twine to one of the buttons as shown below.
Then use glue to secure to the center of your ribbon bow.
Your cake slice teacher gift idea is ready to be given to any teacher in your child’s life. This is a simple gift idea that any teacher will love to receive for Teacher Appreciation Week or any day of the year.
