Supplies needed:
- Burlap (my favorite place to buy burlap is Amazon!)
- Craft paint in white, yellow, and orange
- Paintbrush (I recommend these pouncer brushes)
- Sewing machine and thread
- White ribbon
- Scissors
How to Make Candy Corn Treat Bags:
Start by cutting your burlap into a rectangle. I did 6 inches by 9 inches but you can cut to any size you wish. You will need two rectangles for every one treat bag that you are going to make. Paint one rectangle and leave the other one unpainted.
Paint the bottom of each piece yellow and the top white. I just eyed about 1/3 of each piece. I love the sponge pouncer brushed for really getting that paint into all of the cracks and crevices of the burlap. Be sure to protect the surface under the burlap as the paint will seep through.
Allow the yellow and white to dry before adding the orange in between the two with the same method. Allow your candy corn treat bags to dry completely. NOTE: This usually takes overnight.
Cut another piece of burlap the same size.
Sew all the way around the outer edge with the painted burlap piece on top of an unpainted burlap piece. I used white thread and a zig zag stitch. The top edge can be left unfinished.
Fill the bag with candy then gather up the top edge of the bag and tie with a white ribbon.
