Today we are making chocolate apples as a fun back to school treat. These are great to serve up to the kids on the first day or you can also give as a gift to the new teacher. Grab a few supplies and whip these up in minutes. This is a part of Craft Lightning where we are sharing 15 minute back to school crafts all week. If you have missed any of the fun, be sure to catch up with day 1, day 2, and day 3. Then scroll to the bottom of this post for the projects from today’s blog partners.
Supplies needed to make chocolate apples:
- Apple silicone mold
- Red candy melts
- Green candy melts
- Paintbrush, toothpick, skewer, or any other sharp object (brand new)
Directions:
Start by melting your chocolate according to the package directions. Melt some red and a little bit of green. Then use the end of the brand new paint brush to apply green to the stem portion of your mold. Here you can also use a toothpick, skewer, or any other object that will work for getting the green chocolate exactly where you need it to go. Next fill the rest of your mold with red chocolate. Allow to set until they are hard (this can be sped up by popping them in the fridge for a few minutes). Then remove your chocolate apples from the mold and they are ready for gift giving!
You can definitely change this one up to suit your style. Make all red apples or even all green ones. Yellow anyone? You can also make some that are half red and half green. Let your imagination take over and get creative. Add your finished chocolate apples to a bag for gift giving or pop them in a bowl for the kids to grab as treats. You will love this creative back to school gift idea and so will your kids.
