Add some festive Christmas tableware to your holiday by making this farmhouse tray for your home. I took this same tray that I added vinyl to for Thanksgiving and gave it a Christmas makeover. I can actually add vinyl to this metal tray for season after season. You have to love projects like those! Supplies needed to make this Christmas tableware:
Some of the products below may have been sent to me for free however all projects and opinions are my own.
- White metal tray or other round tray (try Amazon for a few options here)
- Cricut Cutting Machine (Want to see the difference between the machines? I compared the Cricut Maker and Explore here.)
- Vinyl
- Transfer tape (optional)
- Weeding tools (optional)
- Scissors
- This project is made with Design Space files. Click here for my profile. Once on my profile, find the image of the project you want to create, click it to open it up, and then you can make it yourself.
Start by cutting this file from red vinyl. I cut five 12-inch strips and that was plenty to go around my tray. How many you will need will be determined by your tray size. Remove any excess vinyl then weed the trees and dots from the strips. Discard these extra bits. Then start carefully adding the vinyl to the outside of your tray.
Anywhere the strips joined I just lined up the vinyl so that it looked like it was one piece. You can also trim the pieces with scissors to fit around things like handles. I lined up my vinyl around the bottom and pressed down well when it was in place.
Once the vinyl was added, I had some festive Christmas tableware and I made it in minutes. I added in some fun Christmas trees, my standing snowman, and of course that tree in a truck ornament.
Some wood beads, pine cones, and a touch of greenery were all it took to complete this farmhouse tray for my Christmas decor. I can, of course, use it to serve up Christmas treats as well at parties or family celebrations. I also can’t wait to pull off the vinyl and decorate this tray for the next season!
