DIY Christmas Sign
Now that you have your free Christmas Tree SVG, it is time to put it to good use and make a cute sign. This SVG file is the perfect size for this project so be sure to make one for your home and maybe a few to give as gifts as well.
Supplies to make a Christmas pallet sign:
- Pallet Christmas Tree (I purchased the version from here)
- Outdoor Paint (in red and green) (find my favorite brand here)
- Outdoor Vinyl (I use the permanent vinyl from Cricut)
- Transfer Tape
- Cricut Machine (see which is my favorite here)
- Free SVG file (download using the form above)
- String Lights
- Paint Brush
- Staple Gun
How to Make an Outdoor Wood Christmas Tree:
Start by painting your pallet tree with red and green paint. You want complete coverage if you are going to be using this sign outdoors. I would paint the front and back. NOTE: I did not paint the back of my sign but to make it last longer outdoors, I would definitely do that.
Once your paint is dry, flip your sign over and add the string lights to the back. I used a staple gun to secure. Just make sure you do not get the staples in the cord itself. You want the staples to go over the cord.
Then you will want to cut your Christmas tree SVG from the outdoor vinyl using your Cricut machine. Have trouble doing that? You can see the basics of using vinyl here.
Weed away all of the excess vinyl from around your design as well as the centers of any letters. Then use transfer tape to add the vinyl to your Christmas sign.
Then your sign is ready to be added to your outdoor holiday decor! You can even add a wood stake to the bottom if you want to put it in your yard.
Light up the night with this cute holiday decor sign! Be sure to make a few of these for your friends as well. They will love this cute tree design!
You will also want to be sure to use our free Christmas tree SVG for some other projects this holiday season. I could see it used so many ways!
