How To Make Copper Centerpieces
I am in love with this project, plus it is SUPER easy to make. Tea lights look great inside these jars and will really show through the surface which looks similar to mercury glass.
Supplies Needed
Here’s what you’ll need to gather together for this project. I’ve included a few handy links to help make finding certain items easier.
- Copper mason jars (you will need two for each centerpiece)
- Wood slice
- Burlap flowers
- Battery-operated tea lights
Instructions For Copper Centerpieces
The process is so easy you’ll be amazed at how quickly you can make these mason jar centerpieces.
Step 1
String the burlap flowers together, sort of like a daisy chain. The ones I used had wire stems, so they are super easy to wrap around one another.
Step 2
Wrap them all the way around the lip of your mason jars until they make a “crown,” as shown below.
Note: You might have to play with the spacing of the flowers, but five flowers per jar worked great for my centerpiece.
Step 3
Add the jars to the top of your wood slice, and you have one of your wedding reception centerpieces complete!
Make this copper mason jar centerpiece for your wedding today! You will love how easy this project is and how quickly it comes together!
It is also super easy to take apart after the big day. You can then use the components around your home or give them as gifts.
I love it when an item does not have to be thrown out after the wedding! Heck, let each guest take a copper mason jar as a favor! They will love displaying them in their homes.
FAQs
Do you have questions about how to make these beauties? If you don’t see your question answered below, please leave it for me in the comments.
How can I string together the burlap flowers if they don’t have stems?
There are probably several ways to do it. However, I would take floral wire and either loop it around the back of your flower (if there’s something to loop it around so it will stay) or push it through the center of the flower to the back.
Then simply twist the wires together as outlined in the directions above.
What can I use if I can’t find copper mason jars?
The copper mason jars to “make” the copper centerpieces. However, if you can’t find them, I have some alternatives for you to consider. First, you could use simple everyday mason jars. They won’t have quite the same sparkle, but they will have a beautiful rustic charm.
Second, you could paint your mason jars with copper metallic paint. This is my favorite alternative. They won’t look the exact same, but you’ll get a similar aesthetic and rustic glam vibe.
I hope you love displaying these beautiful copper centerpieces all over your wedding reception tables!

Love this idea. Are the jars spray painted with copper paint inside. similar with the technique used to create faux mercury glass? They are awesome.
I actually purchased the copper jars from Consumer Crafts! They come like that!
