Fall Tablescape Ideas
I started with a striped black and white tablecloth as my jumping-off point. But what could I pair with black and white for Thanksgiving? Gold works well and wheat is perfect for adding that fall touch. I also love that the black and white tablecloth will work for other times of the year as well.
So, how could I make black and gold fall-themed? Trust me it is possible! The addition of some gold wheat in mason jars really pulled the entire look into a “fall” theme I think. This one will also easily transition to the holidays. Change out the wheat and leaves for holiday decor and you are ready to celebrate.
You can read more about my gold bottle centerpiece and how I made it here. They are painted bottles with a candle in each one. I love the slightly rustic appearance of this centerpiece. Yes, that “table runner” is barn wood rubbed with gold paint! It adds the rustic appearance that I crave in my home.
I placed the wheat in chalkboard label jars that I purchased at Dollar General. The gold leaves that are scattered around the table also came from Dollar General on a garland. I just clipped them off with scissors and scattered around.
The place cards are glittered gold card stock cut to size and folded in half with a chalkboard label on the top. The place mats? Well those I am super proud of! I ended up using vintage black and white maps under my place settings. It is the perfect vintage touch to my table.
Each place received a dinner plate, folded white napkin, saucer, and coffee cup stacked in that order. A wine glass is also at each place setting.
Who says fall dinner parties have to be all pumpkins and orange? Go bold with black and gold this fall! Add in rustic and vintage touches if you like or keep it simple and more modern.
I could see using these fall tablescape ideas for a dinner party or even an elegant Thanksgiving dinner. The concept of layering gold over an awning stripe tablecloth is simple yet has such elegant results.
