4th of July Decoration Ideas: How To Make a Patriotic Center Table
To do this decor project, the key is to keep it simple. I personally love to either go to my local dollar store or Hobby Lobby and see what they have on sale. If not, trusty Amazon never fails!
Here is what I used to decorate my rustic 4th of July party table.
Supplies Needed:
- Barn Wood Stars
- Candles (I used one large and one small white candle.)
- Red Burlap Ribbon
- Jute Twine
- Tea-Stained American Flag
Instructions:
Here’s how to organize and display these 4th of July party decorations…
Step 1
Wrap the candles with the burlap ribbon and secure them with the twine.
The larger candles get two widths of the ribbon across them as shown below. Just use the jute twine in the center to cover the seam.
Step 2
I loved this rustic tea-stained American flag so much that I folded it and used it as a table runner!
Such a simple idea yet it adds to the rustic feel of these DIY 4th of July decorations. You could also use it as a tablecloth on a smaller table. Pick up a few of these as you may just want to hang them around your porch or patio as decor for your party.
They are really inexpensive so they are perfect for your farmhouse decor this Fourth of July.
Step 3
Add your candles to the centers of the barn wood stars. I just love how the stars really emphasize the rustic look. The effect is really pretty!
Step 4
Finish your 4th of July party decorations by placing the star candle holders down the center of your table.
And that’s it! Now you have a beautiful festive table for your summer bbq party!

Do I have to use white candles?
You can use any color of candles that you’d like! I just chose white to keep with the rustic look.
Can I use regular ribbon instead of burlap?
Of course! Again, it’s your Fourth of July party and you can decorate however you’d like!
What else can I add to the table?
While I was coming up with a look in my mind, I even considered pulling out these patriotic mason jars I made in previous years. I was able to find all of the supplies at Dollar Tree.
Also, serve this patriotic jello poke cake to tie it all together!

Angie, loving your wrapped candles on barn wood stars, they look so great. I wanted to buy 3 of barn wood stars but after paying all my bills am pretty cleaned out, that’s life.
When I saw burlap ribbon on your candles kinda remembered some burlap ribbon had picked up while ago. It’s red burlap with white stars on it which would be great for July 4th. Our daughter gave us some metal stars a neighbor gave her when she moved so will use those on porch railings on 4th.Still have big wood flag I made last year, has been hanging on front porch facing road since last year. Feel like it was one of best things have ever made, surprised has held up so well thru winter. So we’ll be doing ok for decorations. We’re only ones in neighborhood who decorate for holidays other than Christmas. I just enjoy decorating, fun for me.
Did you and family do fun things over holiday weekend? Hope it was fun for you and you relaxed.
Have great week.
The burlap ribbon with the stars will be perfect! We actually didn’t do much over the holiday. The life of a farmer usually means Memorial Day weekend is spent in the hay fields!
