Printing Christmas Gift Tags
You can print these gift tags in PDF and cut them by hand. Read on to learn more about using a Cricut machine if you have one. If you don’t, print onto cardstock and trim the tags to size using a paper cutter. I have convenient cut lines on the printable, so you can use those as a guide. Then, punch a hole in the top of the tag to attach to your presents. You can also tape them on if you prefer.

Cricut Gift Tags
Step 1 – Upload gift tag file
Upload the PNG file to your Cricut machine. You can see more about working with zip files and uploading them to various devices here. Once uploaded, add a rectangle over the tag you want to print.
Step 2 – Slice and resize
Pick both the gift tags and the rectangle and click slice. Then, delete everything except for the tag image. Repeat for as many of the tag designs as you want to print. Resize the designs as needed.
Step 3 – Add tag shape
Then, add tag shapes to your canvas. You can find several in Cricut Design Space or even get a free SVG and upload it. Be sure to size these to fit the gifts that you are wrapping. You will also want to make the tags white or the color of your choice.
My version did not have a hole so I added a circle to each tag. Then pick the tag and the circle and click Slice. Delete off all extra shapes and you are left with a tag that has a circle cut out.
Step 4 – Layer and flatten image
Put the printable graphic over the tag, pick both, and click Flatten. This will make the entire thing a printable tag, and the Cricut will only cut around the outside of the tag.
Step 5 – Print then cut the gift tags
Then, just click Make it to see your tags on the mat. You can click continue to print the tags.
Print the sheet and follow the screen prompts to cut it with your Cricut machine. If you need more information, you can see more about print-and-cut here. You can even print these on sticker paper, so you don’t have to use a ribbon at all!
Step 6 – Add ribbon or twine
Once you complete your gift tags, you can add them to any gift for a festive touch. Now that you know how to make gift tags with a Cricut, you can use this technique for any occasion or holiday. Just find images that will print well and add them to gift tag shapes.
The print then cut function may become your favorite part of Cricut crafting. After all, you can make gift tags and so much more! So, use this guide and create your own Cricut gift tags today!
