Fried Artichoke Recipe
- Artichoke hearts (I used the large size)
- Progresso™ Bread Crumbs
- Flour
- Egg
- Oil for frying
Remove the artichoke hearts from the can and lay on a paper towel lined plate. This will ensure they drain and dry properly. Let them sit for 2 to 3 minutes before frying.
Heat oil in a skillet for frying over medium-high heat. I used about 1 inch of oil in the pan. Batter the artichoke hearts in the following order: flour, egg, and breadcrumbs.
Fry on all sides until they are a golden brown. Remove to a paper towel lined plate to drain.
Serve with plenty of napkins because these delicious fried artichokes will burst in your mouth! My entire family loved these….even the picky ones!

I could see the red flags popping up when I read the title of this post. They were warning me to looking for healthy smoothies with lots of green stuff. Alas, these yummy appetizers won out. I can always start that healthy eating plan next week!
The artichokes don’t pop a bunch when frying? I see you drain them upside down for a few minutes.
No they didn’t Shelly! It worked great!!
How can I take these to a party and keep warm?
Hmmm…I would maybe put them in an insulated container? I have some casserole wraps that do a great job.
Air fry?
I haven’t tried it yet but I’m sure it would work 🙂
