Supplies needed to make your own glitter dipped deer silhouettes:
- Unfinished Wood Deer Figurines
- Craft Paint (I used white, spun gold, and burnt umber from DecoArt)
- Glitter (I used yellow gold and brownstone)
- Decoupage Medium
Once the white paint is completely dry, paint the antlers, hooves, and wood base in a color that coordinates with your glitter. Mix it up and make some fun silhouettes. A deer with pink or orange antlers would look great in a brightly decorated room.
Apply decoupage medium to the painted areas only, and sprinkle on a large amount of glitter.
Allow to dry completely and you are ready to display around your home. What color are you thinking of for your version of this fun deer silhouette? Maybe a red version for Christmas? Or silver for winter? I can think of tons of ideas for these fun glitter dipped deer silhouettes. Order some wood shapes today and get crafty!
Oh I love this idea, so pretty. Hugs, Marty
I love your deer silhouettes but where did you get them? I’d love to paint couple of those anyway and none of the craft stores in Grand Junction, CO have the new paint products you show or the stand up deer. We have Jo-Ann’s, Michaels, and Hobby Lobby but still waiting for them to get new stuff. Very perplexing. Happy week
The deer silhouettes are on Consumer Crafts. Get em while they last! http://www.consumercrafts.com/store/details/catalog/basics-specialty-wood/9190-314
I love these! Also, those wood figurines are so cheap. And I’m all for quick crafts. I’ll probably be sharing this one on my weekly roundup. Oh, and making these, of course. Thanks!
Just found a comment I left you in 2013, still don’t get merchandise til after other places. I read about all these great new paint products on blogs but can’t find them here.
