Hi Angie. Carole’s Chatter is collecting cakes today. This is a nice one. I do hope you pop over and link in. This is the link . Cheers
Best not to drain the pineapple is my take on the recipe. Blueberry pie filling is good too.
this brought back so many memories, but it’s just my husband and I now and we don’t have much company. I’d love to make it again but I know I would be the one eating the majority soooo, I think I’ll skip it….but thanks for the memories
I make this dump cakes for fundraiser dinners at my Moose Lodge. if there is any leftover I bring it home.
Made this the other night for dessert, it was a HUGE hit! Delish! Thanks for posting it.
Hi there! do you think I could use my 6-quart slow cooker for this recipe? looking forward to your reply xo
I wouldn’t Judith. The best part of this recipe is the crunch and you will only get that in the oven!
What other fillings could I add instead of cherry pie?
I have been making dump cakes for years. Always great!!
I sometimes use cherry, apple, and pineapple canned fillings.
Also use BUTTER RECIPE cake mix. the butter and nuts on
top of fillings is what makes this so delicious!!! I ‘ve never used
coconut, but will try.

What other pie fillings would be good besides cherry pie?
I just put one of these together using fresh frozen blueberries and canned pineapple, and halfed the recipe. Hope it turns out and I will let you know!
This cake is the BOMB! I made it today and it is so easy to make with hardly no time at all. It is scrumptious!
This looks so yummy. I love how simple it looks. Pinning recipe for sure.
Is there any substitution for the 2 sticks of butter? I’m diabetic and this recipe sounds so yummy!
I can substitute a sugar free cake mix and sugar free pie mix but need any suggestions for the butter.
Thank you.
I don’t know of a substitution Seva. Sorry!
You could try using a butter flavored cooking spay, just spay the top completely.
OIL, YOU CAN GOOGLE TO SEE HOW MUCH WOULD EQUAL 2 STICKS OF BUTTER
