I don’t know about y’all but come fall all I want is a bowl of soup with a great grilled cheese. This grilled pineapple cheese sandwich is the perfect sweet spin on a traditional grilled cheese. I served mine up with one of Campbell’s new products for a warm and satisfying lunch. With Campbell’s® Homestyle Light soup, a delicious lunch is only minutes away.
I started with Campbell’s® Homestyle Light in baked potato. The soups are available in 29 varieties and each one has high-quality ingredients and no added preservatives. They are the perfect pairing with this grilled pineapple cheese! Plus heating up a can of soup is quite possibly the easiest lunch that you can possibly make. In my family, I keep each person’s favorite canned soup on hand during the fall and winter months. A lunch customized just for them is just a few minutes away!
To make the grilled pineapple cheese you will need:
- 15.5 oz can crushed pineapple in pineapple juice
- 1 cup shredded Velveeta cheese
- 2 – 3 tablespoons mayonnaise
- 1 tbsp butter
- 2 slices of bread
The pineapple cheese itself is made by draining the pineapple really well then adding in the Velveeta and mayonnaise. Mix in a large bowl. It should be a sandwich spread consistency. Now this is great served on bread or crackers just like it is! But if you want to make grilled pineapple cheese, just spread a thick layer on two slices of bread. Grill in a non-stick pan with the melted butter. Cook over medium high heat until both sides are brown and the inside is melted. Cut in half and serve with your favorite Campbell’s soup.
I warmed my Campbell’s® Homestyle Light baked potato soup according to the package directions then topped with additional cheddar and bacon. YUM! This is one great lunch that will warm you up this fall.

Mmm, mmm, good! This sounds so delicious! I will be trying this when it is cold and blustery outside!
This looks so good! I am going to substitute cheddar cheese for the Velveeta I think. Thanks for posting this. YUM!
What a great way to change up regular grilled cheese!
I have never heard of this! WOW. what an amazingly delicious idea. I need to try it! Grilled cheese and soup is one of those meals I crave when the weather starts to get chilly. I’m always looking for fun ideas for ways we can mix it up and make it a tad less boring. This would be so good!
