These handmade Valentine cards with pom pom critters are quick, easy, and absolutely adorable! They are today’s contribution to Craft Lightning. Every day this week, I will post a quick Valentine’s Day craft in the morning with my partner for this series 30 Minute Crafts. Then, each afternoon, I will post features from around the web.

How To Make Handmade Valentine Cards
These quick and easy, three-step handmade Valentine cards can be as simple or complex as you like. Simply print out your Valentine message, make super cute pom-pom characters, and then decorate the cards in your favorite colors!
Let’s make some handmade Valentine cards!
Supplies Needed To Make Handmade Valentine Cards
Unfortunately, The supplies I used in this project (shown in the photo below) are no longer available, so I linked to other similar items you can use to make this project!
- Pom Poms
- Googly Eyes
- Mini Hats
- Mini Wood Feet (you can paint these or leave them plain)
- Sparkly Paper
- White card stock paper
- Printer
- Circle punch, die for cutter, electronic cutter, paper cutter, or scissors
- Hot glue and hot glue gun
Step 1: Print And Cut Out ”Have a FUZZY Valentine’s Day” Message
Print “Have a FUZZY Valentine’s Day!” on white cardstock, and cut out with whatever method you have available. I used a circle die with my Sizzix Big Shot, but you could use scissors or a paper cutter and alter the design to a square or rectangle.
Step 2: Create Pom Pom Critters
To create a critter, grab a pom pom and hot glue a pair of googly eyes almost in the middle. Then, hot glue the pom-pom to some mini feet and finish it off by gluing on a mini hat!
In minutes, you have an adorable critter! Now, you can make your critters as detailed or simple as you want. Personally, I like the look of the hat and the feet, but you could skip these details and just add googly eyes.
Once you have one pom pom critter completed, repeat this step to make as many as you need.
NOTE: When it comes to the mini feet, you can use premade feet (like what I included in the supply list), or you could make some with your Cricut machine!
Step 3: Glue Pom Pom Critters & Message To Paper
Hot glue the pom pom critter and your ”Have a FUZZY Valentine’s Day” message to your paper.
When all your handmade Valentine cards have been created, you can give them to your Valentines!
These handmade Valentine’s Day cards will be the talk of the classroom come February. Plus, the little critter is a non-candy treat each child can take home to play with!
It is so simple, yet cute, and gives your Valentine’s Day gift-giving a handmade touch. Y’all have a fuzzy Valentine’s Day!

- Change The Size Of The Card – The nice thing about this project is that these cards can be any size you like! So, use what you have on hand and make the perfect size card to fit whoever you gift it to!
- Skip The Sparkly Paper – If you don’t have sparkly paper, you can use regular cardstock instead!
