Make Your Very Own Heat Transfer Baby Onesies
You really don’t need much for this easy project! Just a few items, and you’ll be able to create personalized onesies in no time! Choose any image and print it onto a heat transfer sheet–the options are infinite for these cute onesies. Print out your favorite sports team, character, movie, or illustration.
Supplies Needed
- Heat Transfer Sheets from Online Labels
- Image(s) of choice (I chose this graphic and a Harry Potter tie.)
- Iron and safe ironing surface
Note: You will need some scissors to trim around the image.
How to Make your Heat Transfer Baby Onesies
This craft is so simple and ready within minutes! If you happen to have a little bit of downtime and you’re wanting to create, then you will love this simple tutorial. Dress the baby up in for the holidays, themes, parties, and much more!
Step 1
Once your image has been printed, trim around the entire thing using a pair of scissors.
The Online Labels site has great directions on how to use the transfer paper if you click here. Basically, you will flip the transfer over onto a wrinkle-free but hard surface. Then iron on using a VERY HOT iron with no steam. The timing for ironing is discussed in the PDF linked above. Follow the directions to make sure these onesies are successful.
Step 2
After ironing, you allow the entire thing to cool at least two minutes before removing the backing. Your onesies are ready for wearing or gift-giving. You can use this same method with any free image you can find online. Just be sure to invert the image before printing so your text reads correctly once transferred.
Making your own onesies is as easy as printing and ironing. You can use this same method on T-shirts and more for older kids and adults as well. You will soon be addicted to making clothing with this super simple technique.
