Need a herb garden planter for your home this spring? I have a quick and easy idea that y’all are going to love. This wood and metal box is perfect for planting herbs and it has a pretty farmhouse style to it as well. We are actually going to add a white stain to add to that rustic farmhouse feel.

- Rag

- Start by staining the box white. Paint on stain with a brush and wipe off with a rag. Be sure to stain all surfaces. Allow to dry completely.
- Drill drainage holes in the bottom of the box.
- Line box with moss.
- Add in potting soil and herbs.
Want to make some plant markers as well? Use permanent ink and letter stamps on craft sticks. These can be made in just minutes and added to your herb garden planter to make sure you don’t forget which herb is which.
I absolutely love this white stain! The wood grain shows through however the box it still white. It is the perfect way to add a rustic touch to this project.
You can choose any herbs that you love to add to this herb garden planter. Just make sure the plants are sized to fit inside of the box. You could also use this project to start your seeds.
