Kitchen Wall Storage: A Farmhouse Style DIY

Looking for some kitchen wall storage ideas? Look no further than this easy DIY project that will look great in your farmhouse style home. I love adding a little rustic touch to each room in my home and when those touches are functional as well as pretty….that is just icing on the cake. 

Supplies needed to make this kitchen wall storage:

• Wood Bread Board
• Wood Box with Lid
• White Paint
• Wood Glue
• Paint Brushes

Start by gluing the box to the bread board. I like to spread wood glue all over the surface with a brush.

Position the box on the bread board and weight it down to dry. Wipe away any excess glue while still wet. Allow to dry completely before continuing.

Now your kitchen wall storage is ready for some paint. I wanted a rustic farmhouse feel so I used white paint and a dry brush technique. Add just a little bit of paint to your brush them remove most of it on a piece of paper. Move this dry paint brush across your surface with the direction of the wood grain. You will get a rustic finish in minutes with portions of the surface that are left unpainted.

Allow the paint to dry completely then hang in your kitchen for some organization.

Note:  Be sure to paint the edges of your bread board as well. It will show when hanging on your wall (as seen below).

I personally love the rustic feel of this project, however, you can absolutely paint it with craft paint and a few coats for a more modern looking organizer.
