Supplies needed for this DIY large wooden star:
- 5 wood slats 1 1/2″ x 3/8″ x 24″ (mine came from Lowes)
- 8 wood stars
- Paint in red, white, and blue
- Adhesive
- Paintbrushes
How to make this patriotic wooden star:
Paint the wood slats. Two should be red, two white, and one blue. These slats are at my local Lowes precut to length making this project super simple. You will also want to paint the stars with white paint. You may need two coats of paint per piece. Just allow one coat to dry and add a second coat.
When the paint is completely dry, add the wood stars to the blue slat with the adhesive. Be sure to use a good quality outdoor paint if your project will be outdoors.
Then lay the slats out in a star shape with the blue one on top. Use adhesive anywhere that the slats touch.
Allow the adhesive to dry completely then display your large wooden star anywhere indoors or out!
Use this as large wooden star wall decor or even outdoors on a deck or patio.
You are going to love how great this one looks but also how easy it is to make!
