How To Make DIY Halloween Gift Bags
Add cute spiders to the front of gift bags for a fun idea to make your party special! The addition of glitter paint to these spiders makes this project stand out. Read on to see how to make these DIY party bags for Halloween!
Supplies Needed:
Unfortunately, the paint used in this tutorial is no longer available. I linked to an alternative paint option in the supply list below.
- Various colored gift bags
- Set of plastic spiders
- DecoArt Craft Twinkle Paint in Fuchsia, Black, and Gold
- Alternative Option: FolkArt Extreme Glitter Acrylic Paint in Assorted Colors
- Spider webs (either purchase a spider web bag, draw on the bags, or cut a spider web design with a machine like your Cricut)
- Hot glue and a glue gun
- Paintbrushes
Step 1: Paint Spiders
Start by painting your spiders with two fairly thick coats of paint. Be sure to allow them to dry before adding a second coat. Allow spiders to dry overnight before touching them.
I only painted the top and sides of my spiders because the bottom is against the bag and will not be seen anyway. Be sure to protect your work surface, as you can see below.
Step 2: Add Spider Web & Spider To Bag
Stick the spider web to the front of the bag and glue on the painted spider with hot glue.
I cut my spider webs from vinyl on my Cricut. Give this spiderweb SVG a try if you decide to use your machine.
You could paint or draw on a similar design, or, if you are lucky enough, you might be able to find a spider web bag at your Dollar Tree.
Step 3: Repeat for Additional Bags
I attempted to match my colors for a fun take on Halloween gift bags! However, you can pick and choose colors you love for this project.
These bags are perfect for small or medium-sized gifts! You can actually give a gift to adults or kids in these Halloween gift bags. Either one will enjoy these colorful spiders and webs. These are affordable options that will make your gift seem extra amazing!
You can also use these as Halloween party bag ideas. Fill them with party favors for your guests, and don’t let anyone leave empty-handed. They will love that the gift bag is part of the gift!
