How To Make Snow Globe Mason Jar Topper
Are you ready to find out the secret to making a custom mason jar lid topper? It’s so much easier to do than you probably think!
1. First, cut the strings off the miniature ornaments. Using the lid of the mason jar, trace the inner circle part on the white paper. Then cut the circle and hot glue it to the inner part of the lid.
2. Create a scene by hot gluing the ornaments onto the white piece of paper that is attached to the lid.
3. Then add snow to your scene.
4. Open your clear plastic ornament so that it’s now in two pieces. Attach one half of the ornament to the outer portion of the mason jar lid with hot glue.
5. Place your dome onto the jar. There is a small part of the clear ornament that is meant to have the string attached to it. Be sure that portion of the ornament is turned towards the back of the jar.
6. Add whatever you would like inside the jars to complete these mason jar Christmas gifts. Tie on some twine in various colors as well as a gift tag, if you wish!
NOTE: I love the idea of adding hot chocolate and marshmallows for a super simple and inexpensive gift idea.
Easy Peasy (that’s how we like to roll)!

Hi, I was wondering what size clear ornament did you use for the wide mouth jar snowglobe
I don’t have that in front of me. What I always do is measure the jar and order that size ornament from Amazon.
did you find out? was it 100mm?
100 mm is almost 4 inches. Just measure the top of your jar then google a mm to inches conversion. Convert to mm and order that size.
This is so creative! Definitely going to have to try it. What a nice spin on the basic old gift in a jar.
Without the inner lid being attached to the outer lid , how would a person be able to open the jar without all the snow falling out. I am trying this now and see that Wide mouth jars are 86 am, and the clear balls come in 70 or 100 mm. 70 on regular jar is not tall enough, but afraid 100 will be to big. Any help in this sizing problem?
Just glue the inner and outer together. That is fine. I use the 70 mm for regular size jars.
Wondering why after a couple of days my globes became cloudy.
Not sure why that would be as these don’t have any liquid in them?
