If you are hosting a party, this meatball appetizer recipe is for you! This is a quick and easy appetizer that will leave you more time to mingle with guests. This post is sponsored by Johnsonville however all projects and opinions are my own. Pick up your frozen Johnsonville meatballs and get started making this simple recipe for your next party or just as lunch for the entire family on a Saturday!
Meatball Appetizer Recipe Ingredients:
- Johnsonville Three Cheese Italian Style Meatballs (these are frozen & fully cooked and come in 3 flavors: Classic Italian, Three Cheese, Homestyle)
- Flaky layer biscuits (three cans will do one package of meatballs with a few leftover)
- Pasta sauce
- Shredded mozzarella cheese
Roll out the biscuits until they are nice and flat then place in a regular size greased muffin tin as shown below.
Bake the biscuits at 400 degrees for 8 to 10 minutes or until golden brown as shown below.
In the meantime, heat up the Johnsonville meatballs in the pasta sauce for about 20 minutes. The best part of these pre-cooked frozen meatballs is that you can simply toss into a slow-cooker, skillet or oven to heat thoroughly. Within minutes, you can add a warm and flavorful protein to your favorite pasta dish, pizza, soup or sub sandwich. In this case, you are going to place one meatball and some sauce on top of each baked biscuit.
Put about one tablespoon of cheese on top of each meatball.
Place the meatballs under the broiler until the cheese is melted and this recipe is ready to serve up to your party guests.
