How to Make Sheet Pan Wreaths
Now that you have your supplies, it is time to make some pizza pan wreaths for your own door as well as some to give as gifts. You can actually watch me make all three door hangers in the video below.
Can’t watch the video or missed some of the steps? Follow along below for the full set of instructions.
Santa Pizza Pan Door Hanger
First, we will tackle how to make a cute pizza pan door hanger that looks like Santa’s belly. After all, who can resist that bowl full of jelly?
Supplies
- Pizza pan any size will do
- Craft foam
- Wire old hangers will work
- Testors Craft Aerosols
- Testors Craft Acrylic Paint
- Paintbrushes
- Template for toppers you can download this above
- Scissors
- Hot glue and a glue gun
- Painter’s tape
Instructions
- Spray paint your sheet pan red. I used regular red as well as red glitter paint over the top. You will want to allow this to dry overnight before adding the rest of your design.
- While your sheet pan dries, use the template to make ornament topper shapes on craft foam by tracing with a marker.
- Cut around your lines with scissors.
- Paint faint black lines down the middle as well as the sides of your craft foam. Then paint over the entire thing with silver paint. Set aside and allow to dry completely.
- Once everything is dry, tape off a rectangle in the middle of your pizza pan and paint gold. I used gold paint as well as gold glitter paint on my belt buckle. Remove the painter's tape and allow to dry.
- Tape off a belt and paint with black paint. Remove the painter's tape and allow to dry.
- Use a hot glue gun to attach the foam ornament hanger to the top of your wreath.
- Use additional hot glue to secure some wire to the back of your pan for hanging.
Now your cute pan door hanger is ready to add to your front door!
You could also change this up with green paint and make an elf’s belly to go along with Santa. Want to add some extra flair? Cut “HO HO HO” from vinyl and add it across the bottom as well. There are so many ways to customize pizza pan wreaths once you get started making them!
Monogram Ornament Door Hanger
If you love all things monogram, this next pizza pan door hanger is for you! I am adding a monogram to this ornament to make it custom and perfect for adding to your front door.
Supplies
- Pizza pan any size will do
- Craft foam
- Wire old hangers will work
- Testors Craft Aerosols
- Testors Craft Acrylic Paint
- Paintbrushes
- Round pouncer brushes
- Template for toppers you can download this above
- Scissors
- Hot glue and a glue gun
- Permanent vinyl only if needed
- Weeding tools only if needed
- Scraper only if needed
- Cricut machine only if using vinyl
Instructions
- Once again, spray paint your pizza pan. This time I only used green and then allowed to dry overnight. You will also want to prepare your foam ornament topper in the same manner as above on the Santa version of this door hanger.
- Use round sponge brushes to make polka dots with acrylic paint all over your pizza pan. This may take two coats. Just fill your brush with paint and press to create a circle. Allow these to dry completely before continuing.
- Add the foam topper as well as a wire hanger with hot glue. You can stop here and add to your door or you can add a vinyl monogram. To add the monogram, cut on a Cricut and weed away all of the excess. Then just peel and stick to the center of your door hanger.
You could also add other things to this same design! Just about any stencil or design you can cut on your Cricut would look great on a ornament door hanger.
You can also make custom pizza pan wreaths like these for family and friends this holiday season. They will love hanging this cute door hanger on their front door!
Happy Holidays Door Hanger from a Pizza Pan
I have one final version that is a bit more elegant than the ornament versions above. And, yes, a pizza pan can be elegant!
Supplies
- Pizza pan any size will do
- Testors Craft Aerosols
- Scissors
- Hot glue and a glue gun
- Greenery
- Ribbon
- Cut file for “happy holidays”
- Permanent vinyl
- Weeding tools
- Scraper
- Cricut machine
Instructions
- Spray paint the pizza pan once again. This time I used regular gold with gold glitter over the top. Allow this to dry overnight before continuing.
- Cut your design on your Cricut and weed away all of the excess vinyl. Don't have a Cricut? Use stencils here and Testors acrylic paint to add your design instead.
- Use transfer tape to remove the vinyl from the backing and add to the center of the pizza pan.
- Use hot glue and glue gun to add greenery as well as a ribbon bow to the top of your door hanger.
- You will also need to add a ribbon loop to the back with hot glue for hanging.
Pick any design for this version of these pizza pan wreaths. You can also customize the colors to work with your holiday decor.
I personally love the rustic ribbon and magnolia leaves but you can add whatever greenery you would like to the top as well.
So, which of these pizza pan wreaths will you make this holiday season? I really can’t decide which is my favorite but if I had to pick it is probably the monogram version. I am always a sucker for a good monogram craft. Pick your favorite of these sheet pan wreaths and make a few for your home and to give as gifts.
My husband bought me a Cricut and its still in the box. I signed up for your Cricut tutorials so I can begin using it. Looking forward to a lot of fun projects. Love the pizza pans.
Yay! You will have it out of the box in no time!
How large of a vinyl letter did you use for the Ornament wreath? Thank you 🙂
I just measured my pan and decided what would look best?
