If that’s the case, I have a treat for y’all today – these printable mason jar gift boxes are going to knock your socks off!
And I can think of no one better than my friend Jen Goode from 100 Directions to have some amazing mason jar gift box designs. Jen is a super-talented artist, and today she is sharing her brilliance with us!
How To Make Printable Gift Box
I love wrapping gifts and finding fun ways to dress up boxes. Unfortunately, wrapping small or round items (like mason jars) can be the hardest to make look good while wrapped!
I decided to make it easy and create some printable gift boxes, so all you have to do is print them out, add the gift, and give it to the recipient. These box designs are already decorated and ready to go!
I thought it would be fun to design the boxes as mason jars, complete with little jar lid box tops. Holiday gift wrapping made simple (and cute)!
Supplies Needed To Make Printable Gift Box
- DIY mason jar gift
- Printable mason jar gift boxes
- Scoring tool
- Ruler
- Scissors
- Glue
- Crayons, markers, glitter, etc. (optional if you want to decorate the boxes)
Step 1: Grab Your Files
Download your mason jar gift box files.
Step 2: Print Out The Templates
I recommend printing your boxes out on cardstock paper to give them a little substance. Check out my tips below to make your mason jar gift boxes even sturdier!
Step 3: Score The Lines To Prepare For Cutting And Folding
Score along the RED lines before cutting out the box pieces, which will make folding much quicker.
Step 4: Cut Out The Templates
After you print out the gift box templates, you need to remove the excess paper by cutting out the design.
Next, trim along the edges of each box piece. There are BLUE lines on each printable to help you.
Step 5: Glue Your Boxes Together
Fold where appropriate before gluing any tabs in place. This makes it a little easier to get nice, clean fold lines.
First, glue your box together. While it’s drying, you can glue the lid together.
Pro Tip: When gluing edges in place, make sure to glue along the side edge before gluing any bottom flaps. The bottom flaps can be left unglued (folding only), but I recommend gluing the bottom flaps together if you plan to fill your boxes with anything heavy.
Once your box is glued together and dried, you are ready to add your gift!
Thank you so much for sharing these with us, Jen! I hope y’all enjoy these printable mason jar gift boxes and will use them for all of your holiday gift-giving needs.
Tips For Making Printable Gift Box
Now that you’ve seen this printable gift box, are you ready to make your own? Here are a few tips and tricks to ensure your project goes as smoothly as possible!
- Decorate it! You can dress up each box to give it your own personal touch by adding ribbon, glitter, or other pretty accents. You can even color each paper jar however you like. Have fun!
- Make it sturdier! If you want a more sturdy box, print the box design on paper and then adhere it to a piece of cardboard (such as a recycled cereal box) before scoring, cutting, and folding.
- Get creative! Mix and match the mason jar gift boxes however you’d like. You can stack them or use them separately. Add your own ribbon to dress them up, or simply use the box and lid sets as is.
FAQs About Printable Gift Box
If you have questions about making this printable gift box, I have answers for you! Please leave your question for me in the comments if you don’t see it already answered below.
What Printer Would You Recommend For Printables In General?
I love using this printer!
Where Do I Get The Free Printable Gift Box?
You can download the free printable gift box here!
What Kind Of Glue Should I Use To Put These Boxes Together?
Hot glue works well (if you keep it fairly light so it doesn’t get too bulky) because it sets very quickly and has a stronghold. You could also use craft glue, super glue, or your favorite glue when working with paper.
Will My Paper Box Hold A Mason Jar Without Breaking?
Yes, most of the time. If you fill a large mason jar up with something heavy, you’ll want to take the time and effort to create a box as sturdy as possible. Regular printer paper won’t be enough in that instance (and cardboard paper probably won’t be either).
However, if you put a small jar inside the box, you can probably get away with only using printer paper!
Pro Tip: Tying your box together with a ribbon (as shown in the image below) is a GREAT way to help your box support the weight of your mason jar gift.
