My fall trail mix is perfect for a Halloween or fall party. It is easy and quick to make plus it makes a large batch for a crowd. Make it for a kid’s Halloween party or for your next tailgate! I personally love the addition of pumpkin spice to this recipe. Give me all the pumpkin spice seasoning in the fall! Don’t love the idea of the pumpkin spice? We have another recipe for Halloween snack mix that you might like better. But if you love all things pumpkin, keep reading for this Halloween trail mix recipe.
This one was first published on October 26, 2012 but I am republishing with more information.

- Add cranberries, walnuts, and candy corn to the coated cereal and toss to combine.

Serving at a Party
Want to get a little more festive with your mix? Add it to paper cones to serve. Cut 12″ by 12″ sheets of scrapbook paper into fourths. Roll into a cone shape and tape to secure. Then add your Halloween trail mix to the inside.
This makes the mix easy to carry around a party and munch on. Plus it keeps the little hands out of the large bowl!
All of the pieces get a dusting of powdered sugar once they are mixed with the cereal. I did not know just how good walnuts and cranberries are once you put a little powdered sugar on them. Y’all they are amazing.
I hope you enjoy this one as much as we did! I actually just made it for my family and took the remainder to work with me. That way we got to enjoy it but not eat the entire batch! Cause I am telling y’all it makes a BUNCH!
So, will you be making this fall trail mix for your family this autumn? I know they are going to love it!
Don’t love cranberries or walnuts? No problem! This recipe can be adapted to include any ingredients you love. Substitute an of the ingredients and create your own version of this Halloween trail mix.
By the way, there is no reason to wait for Halloween to mix this one up. Make it right now and enjoy a batch then make it again in October! Trust me, you will want to keep a batch of this fall trail mix around your home!

Yum, Angie! This looks really good!
Almost 2 years and no one has asked about amounts of cranberries and walnuts you used. Did you use the whole 1 1/2 cup bag of walnuts as shown in the picture? And I can’t see what size bag of cranberries you used. Thank you for your reply.
You are correct! Why did no one ask? It would completely be to taste. If you love cranberries throw in a bunch if you don’t love them throw in a little. 🙂
Can you put this trail mix in baggies and give away? Will it stay fresh a few days?
Of course!
