Make your own Valentine’s Day wreath
This quick and easy Valentine’s Day Wreath needs minimal supplies and only takes 15 minutes! Customize your message, then hang it for all your loved ones to see.
Supplies needed:
- Chicken Wire Heart Frame
- Pink Pom Poms (I used a bag of 100 assorted sizes)
- Mini Rosettes (or make your own, instructions below)
- Felt Alphabet Stickers
- Mini clothespins
- Hot Glue and Glue Gun
How to make your own Valentine’s Day wreath
You can definitely whip this one up in way less than 15 minutes! And why not make more? Customize the phrase on each wreath and have a full decorating party.
Step 1: Make paper rosettes
Premade rosettes are getting harder to find, and making them is easy. If you bought premade rosettes, you can skip ahead to step 2. If you want to make your own, here is what you’ll need:
- Cricut Machine
- Scoring wheel (for Cricut Maker) or scoring stylus
- Cardstock (in your choice of colors)
- Cricut Design #M3C899 (rosette)
To make you own paper rosettes, start by opening Cricut Design Space and search for “rosettes”. I used design #M3C899 for the image below.
When you have the rosette sized as you’d like, click “make it”. You’ll need to make six rosettes to add the “Be Mine” letters. Add your scoring stylus or scoring wheel as prompted.
If you are looking for detailed instructions to make paper rosettes, check out this tutorial about making rosettes with your Cricut Maker using the scoring wheel.
Step 2: Add letters to rosettes
Then you will create the “Be Mine” banner letters. I am using peel-and-stick letters, which makes it super easy to attach them to the front of the rosettes. If you don’t have sticky letters, though, you can use a hot glue gun. You could also easily cut out letters from cardstock, felt or craft foam using your Cricut.
Step 3: Hot glue pompoms
Now it is time to begin decorating the frame of your wreath. Use a hot glue gun to place your pompoms on the wooden portion of the chicken wire frame.
PRO TIP: Add the large pompoms to the bottom half of the frame for a more balanced look.
Step 4: Fill the frame
Continue adding the smaller pom poms to the top, and fill up the frame until you are happy with the results.
Step 5: Clip banner letters to wreath
Now it is time to clip your banner letters onto the chicken wire. These fun tiny clothespins are from the Dollar store.
Step 6: Check your spelling!
Spell out “Be Mine” (or whatever phrase you chose!) and your quick Valentine’s Day wreath idea is complete and ready to hang on your door.
I told y’all this would be one great quick and easy craft idea!
