Rustic wall art is the perfect way to add decor to your farmhouse style home. In my opinion, decorating a wood slice is the perfect way to do just that! You can get rustic wood slices in all shapes and sizes right in your craft store. Then just add some vinyl for a decor piece that will look amazing in any room.

- Wood slice
- Cricut machine (see the differences between machines here)
- Vinyl (in the color of your choice)
- Transfer tape
- Weeding tools (optional)
- Cricut cut file
Instructions:
Start by accessing the Cricut Design Space file and resizing the design to fit your wood slice. Then cut from vinyl using your machine. Weed the excess vinyl around the outside of the image as well as the centers of letters. You will also need to remove the word “sweet” from the house but keep the centers of these two e’s. You can see my completely weeded design below. Weeding tools do make this step a bit easier but they are optional.
Then add transfer tape directly over the top of your design and press down well. I always think a scraper tool works great for these steps.
Lift the transfer tape making sure that your design lifts from the backing paper as well.
Then just press the design down onto your wood slice well. Lift the transfer tape away and you have some cute rustic wall art for your home.
I love this home sweet home design but you can use this same method for other designs as well. You might just need a decorative wood slice in every room of your home.
