Slow Cooker Apple Crisp Recipe
- 8 apples, peeled, cored and thinly-sliced
- 1 tablespoon lemon juice
- 1/3 cup packed brown sugar
- 2 teaspoons ground cinnamon
- Salt
- 1 cup (uncooked) old-fashioned oats
- 2/3 cup diced pecans
- 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/3 cup packed brown sugar
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 4 tablespoons melted butter
Instructions:
- Add apples and the lemon juice to a large bowl and toss.
- Add in the 1/3 cup brown sugar, 2 teaspoons ground cinnamon, and a pinch of salt. Combine well.
- Pour the mixture into the bottom of a slow cooker that has been sprayed with non stick cooking spray.
- In the same bowl, combine oats, pecans, flour, 1/3 cup brown sugar, 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon, a pinch of salt, and butter.
- Spread this mixture on top of the apples already in the slow cooker.
- You will now want to place a folded dish towel over the top of the slow cooker before adding the lid. This will help to absorb moisture while cooking. You want your apple crisp to be….well….crisp! Please note that I have used this towel method several times without issue but it is not recommended by all manufacturers. Be sure to read your manual and check your slow cooker often to make sure the towel is not too hot.
- Cook on high for 3-4 hours or low for 6-8 hours. The apples should be soft and cooked through.
- Serve this up warm right from the slow cooker and top with a serving of ice cream.

Sure sounds and looks delicious. Would be good to get more use from our slow cooker. Will save this for when I get more ink for ridiculously expensive ink cartridges. Had I known how much they would be would not have bought printer. Was a floor model special sale from Sams Club, OUCH. Mr. paid for printer and first cartridges on his Sam’s account, after that was up to me. Bad idea, gulp, even with buying Member’s Mark cartridges is about $80, gulp.. So what do I have to give up when I need cartridges? Sheesh!
Will be needing to eat some good apple crisp huh?
