How To Make Snowman Bead Ornament
Handmade ornaments are my favorite! If you’re like me, you have a whole tree filled with sweet handmade ornaments from your kids. They have such a special meaning and are way more sentimental than any store-bought gift! Plus, the great thing about making something handmade is that you can customize it to your own style or the recipient’s style.
This snowman bead ornament is the perfect Christmas craft this season because it is so simple, and you can make several at once to give to friends and family! This is even easy enough for the kids! No messy hot glue is required!
Supplies Needed To Make Snowman Bead Ornament
- Large wood beads
- Twine
- Black permanent marker
- Orange permanent marker
- Scissors
- Tape (optional)
Step 1: Cut Twine & Knot It
Start by cutting a length of twine and knotting at the top.
Step 2: Wrap Tape Around Twine
Then, gather the two ends and wrap the tape around them if desired. This will help you when threading on the wood beads.
Step 3: Thread Bead On Twine
Thread the end through three of your wood beads, and then remove the tape.
Step 4: Tie The End Of The Twine
Tie the ends together a few times and trim away any excess twine.
Step 5: Add Snowman’s Face
Use your markers to add a snowman face to your ornament.
And just like that, you have a cute ornament to hang on your tree. Keep going and make even more of these adorable snowman decorations.
I can see these simple and rustic ornaments hanging all over my tree!
These are also the perfect craft for kids, so grab your supplies and get them working on some adorable snowman decorations today. After all, it is never too early to do some Christmas crafts!

- Adjust The Size Of Your Snowman – Purchase larger beads to make expressive faces! Decorate with googly eyes or make a smile with craft pipe cleaners.

I love your beaded snowmen! So easy and so cute!
You’re so clever!
Those are adorable! Pinned.
Your snowmen are very cute and this is an easy craft for young children to enjoy. I’d add narrow strips of (torn) fabric to serve as mini scarves. A quarter or a half of a yard of calico or flannelette would make lots OR better still, buy an old man’s flannel (preferably plaid) shirt from a used clothing shop and rip off strips. Leave the edges frayed for a rustic/casual look. Another idea would be – use small lengths of bulky yarn in Christmas colors as scarves.
What size are the wood beads?
You could use any size! I would say around 1 inch is what I used however.
The markers bleed on the wood.
I got a little bleeding but it was minimal.
The orange was the worst.
Did you use a sharpie?
