Spiderman Cupcakes
I am making my cupcakes with a store-bought mix, however, you could also use your favorite recipe or pick up some cupcakes from the bakery. The top is what really makes these cupcakes cute so the cupcake itself doesn’t really matter. In fact, you can use any flavor of cupcake that your little one loves.
Ingredients:
- Cupcakes (any variety will work for this recipe)
- Red icing
- Blue icing
- Knife
- Plastic spider rings
Instructions:
- Tint a can of frosting red or make your own homemade icing.
- Ice the top of your cupcakes with the red frosting. If you are picking up your cupcakes from the bakery, you can pick them up with no icing or have them add just plain red. NOTE: Gel food coloring gives you the truest red color. I would recommend it over liquid.
- Add blue icing to a piping bag with a small tip. Make three circles on the top of each cupcake. One in the very center, the second in the middle, and the third close to the outside edge.
- Use a knife and run it from the center to the outer edge in several places around your cupcake. You are looking for a spiderweb effect.
- Then just add a spider ring to the center of each cupcake by pressing it down in the center.
It really is that easy to make your own Spiderman cupcakes. I love how these turned out and they are perfect for little kids that love the superhero. Want to make these for Halloween instead? You can swap the red frosting for white and the blue for black. Then you will have a more traditional spiderweb that is perfect for a spooky night at home.
I make these cute cupcakes whenever I want to surprise my little ones with a special treat. After all, with cupcakes this easy, it is simple to make any night of the week special. You can also make some themed party favors to go along with these cupcakes.
They even get a special treat afterwards as they can play with the spiders that are on top. Or you can collect the spiders and save them for the next time you want to make Spiderman cupcakes for your family.
