Yesterday’s post was all about decorating for summer with seashells and starfish. I could not leave out the front door so I whipped up a starfish wreath. This is a quick and easy project that anyone can tackle. In just minutes, you will have a gorgeous wreath on your front door. Come on summer I am ready!
Supplies needed to make a starfish wreath:
- wreath form
- rope
- brown paper (I used packaging material)
- mini starfish
- hot glue and glue gun
I started by tearing my paper into long strips about 6 inches wide. Then crinkle up those strips and wrap them around the wreath form. Use hot glue to secure into place. TIP: Low temp hot glue works best when dealing with foam.
This paper is just kraft paper and you can use any you have on hand. Mine came as packaging material in a box but you can also buy it on a roll at the dollar store. Continue wrapping and gluing until your entire wreath form is covered. Then hot glue on your mini starfish in a random pattern.
I purchased about 100 of these starfish and used all but a few on the wreath. You can use as many or as few as you would like. Finally, make a tie out of rope for hanging your wreath. Fraying the ends of the rope finished it off.

Love it, love it, love it! I’m about 10 miles maybe from the beach (by highway) and this really gets me into beach mode! Not that I like to lay around and get fried. We love searching for beach glass and little creatures!
