Make these patriotic summer party glasses using your Cricut machine! This easy DIY project will add some festive fun to your celebration.
I am wrapping up summer mason jar week today with a quick and easy way to make summer party glasses. This is seriously a DIY project that you can complete before your guests arrive. Now that is my kind of party craft!
Keep the supplies on hand for other fun party ideas as well (yep I have some other ideas for you!).
How to Make Summer Party Glasses
I originally made these summer party glasses using star labels that I found. But you can cut vinyl with your Cricut to make these patriotic glasses and customize them even more!
Keep reading to see how I used my Cricut machine and permanent vinyl to make these festive summer party glasses.
Supplies needed to make your own summer party glasses:
- Cricut Maker or Cricut Explore
- Star SVG
- Permanent Cricut vinyl in multiple colors
- Transfer Tape
- Weeding Tool
- Brayer
- LightGrip Mat
- Scraper Tool
- Mason jar glasses
- Mason jar drinking lids
- Paper straws
Load Your Design in Cricut Design Space
Find a star design that you like in Cricut Design Space. Follow the on-screen instructions to cut the various pieces.
Cut Your Vinyl
If you want more info on how to use Cricut vinyl, check out the entire post.
Place the vinyl face up on your mat and press it down firmly.
The fine point blade is the ideal tool to use when cutting.
Weed your Vinyl
Now that you have cut your vinyl, it is time to apply Cricut vinyl.
Use your tools to start weeding away the parts you do not want from your design.
Apply Vinyl Using Transfer Tape
Use transfer tape to help you lift your design from the backing paper and apply it exactly as it is laid out to your surface.
Center the design on the front of the jar and press well to apply. TIP: You can also slice the transfer tape around the edges so it will bend around the jar easier.
Press the vinyl down well. You can use your scraper to make sure it adheres really well.
Peel back the transfer tape, and your star should stay on your mason jar.
The daisy mason jar lids and paper straws are completely optional but they are a fun way to complete your project for any party that you are hosting this summer.
You can make a patriotic drink or a 4th of July punch in these glasses your Fourth of July party and serve them up!
